Industry Commercial Education Trust
The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board (LCCI) has offered its examinations and qualifications for over 100 years.
Around 5,000 schools, colleges and universities are approved to deliver LCCI qualifications. Yet by 2002 the time had come for this educational charity to adopt a more conventional commercial structure for its activities. IDJ was engaged to sell the assets of the Examinations Board to a company with the resources and capabilities to maintain the great traditions of this venerable organization.
In view of the need to demonstrate clearly that the terms of the transaction were regarded as advantageous to LCCI, IDJ accepted a significant part of its compensation in the shares of the expanded company.
TÜVSuddeutschland AG
Established 130 years ago by boiler operators as a private-sector regulatory body with the business objective of "protecting man, the environment and property against the adverse effects of technology" in the industrial centers of the German Länder, TÜVSuddeutschland is based in Munich.
The company has grown to employ over 10,000 people, with annual sales of roughly $800 million. It owned a facilities management company based in Hampshire that was mainly committed to the operation of high technologyfacilities for the UK Ministry of Defence.
